Kelly is a registered nurse and a certified diabetes educator who has been living with type 1 diabetes for 24 years. Recently Kelly completed a six week bionic pancreas trial at Massachusetts General Hospital and she is on the podcast to tell us all about her experience!

Have you ever wanted to talk to a super smart guy about the research that is happening around diabetes? I'm talking about prevention, treatments, cure, artificial pancreas, responsive insulin, beta cell therapy, encapsulation... there is so much to choose from and Albert speaks about them all like an expert (because he is!). 

Albert Hwa, Ph.D. joined the JDRF in January 2007 as the scientific program manager in the beta cell therapies program, for which he develops and manages research initiatives related to islet transplantation, bioengineering, stem cell research, cell encapsulation, and cellular reprogramming.
