Steve Jobs, Apple founder, has died

Scott Benner

It isn't often that the world sees a human being whose thoughts effect so many. I believe that the ideas Mr. Jobs brought to us will continue to spur innovation far beyond the years that he was on this earth. His loss will be felt by far more then those of us that use the technology that he pioneered. Rest in peace Steve, your too short life was a gift to all.

We should all hope that we do just one thing in our lifetime that touches so many, that does so much to advance humanity.

The video below is Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address and is very worth watching... Thanks to Adam for turning me on to it!

Made our own pots and pans moment

Scott Benner

About an hour after I wrote 'Pots, Pans, Baseball, Fathers and Sons' I decided that Cole and I should make our way down to Citizens Bank Park to make a memory of our own. Game one of the 2011 NLDS between the Phillies and Cardinals was without a doubt the most exciting live sporting event that I have ever attended. When Ryan Howard hit this home run to put the Phillies ahead Cole was standing in front of me, I put my left arm across his chest and we jumped up and down together, screaming like maniacs... I still don't have my voice back.

I hope that everyone gets to do something like this at least once... it's unlike any other communal experience I've ever encountered.

I've added some of the pictures that I took at the game to the Visual Record, I hope you enjoy them!

My diabetes365 interview

Scott Benner

The website www.diabetic365.com invited me to be part of their ‘Diabetic Heros’ interview series. The interview took place on Father’s Day and was posted just the other day. Diabetic365 was kind enough to allow me to repost it here at Arden’s Day.

I think that the information that was revealed during this 20 or so minutes is worth the time it takes to hear it.

The interview is in two parts, I hope that you take a look. Please also take a moment to check out diabetic365.com.

News you can use

Scott Benner

Arden was recently the focus of the ‘Covering your Health’ segment that ran on KIMT news.  As you know, we try our best to bring awareness and transparency to type I diabetes and we were thrilled to have the chance to speak about Arden’s OmniPod insulin pump.

I feel particularly lucky to have the chance to tell other diabetics how much the OmniPod has helped us.  If just one child finds the OmniPod and feels the relief that Arden has experienced then we have done a world of good.

Please take a moment to watch the piece (above), if you have any question about the OmniPod please feel free to leave them in the comment section or send me an email.  I’ll do my best to answer your questions.
