About
I'm Scott Benner and I started this blog on August 16, 2007 at 3 AM. I'm not sure what drove me to begin writing about my life as the father of a child with type I diabetes, but I'm positive about why I continue - I love being a part of the diabetes online community! There is no greater support for people living with diabetes than that of friendship and community.

My wife Kelly and I have been married since 1996, we have two children, a son Cole and our daughter Arden. Arden was diagnosed with type I diabetes just after her second birthday in 2006.
I've been a full-time stay-at-home dad since Cole was born in February of 2000. I became a published author when my award-winning parenting memoir, 'Life Is Short, Laundry Is Eternal: Confessions of a Stay-At-Home Dad' was released in 2013. My next book, a yet to be titled parenting advice/humor book is being written now. Sometimes when people ask me what I do a say that I'm a writer but most days, I proudly respond, "I'm a stay-at-home dad".
